The Strategic Governance and Policy Coordination Directorate (SGPCD) is an arm of the Office of the Executive Governor of Kano State, established to strengthen the State Government’s commitment to accountable, transparent, and evidence-based governance.
The Directorate plays a central role in ensuring that government policies, programmes, and projects are effectively implemented, properly monitored, and aligned with the development priorities of His Excellency, the Executive Governor of Kano State. Through strategic coordination, performance tracking, and citizen engagement, the SGPCD serves as the Governor’s policy nerve centre — linking vision, execution, and results across all sectors and levels of government.
- Coordinating and harmonising government policies and strategic initiatives to ensure coherence and efficiency across Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs).
- Monitoring and evaluating the implementation of government projects and programmes to enhance accountability and timely delivery.
- Gathering and analysing public feedback, requests, and complaints to ensure that government interventions are responsive to citizens’ real needs.
- Tracking performance indicators of key government priorities and providing regular policy briefs to His Excellency.
- Facilitating inter-agency collaboration and promoting good governance practices driven by data, evidence, and innovation.
