Education remains at the heart of development in Kano State, and under the leadership of His Excellency, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, significant strides have been made to revitalise the sector. The administration has prioritised access, infrastructure, and teacher welfare to restore the State’s reputation as a centre of learning in Northern Nigeria. Hundreds of classrooms have been renovated and furnished across primary and secondary schools, while new schools have been established in underserved communities to reduce overcrowding. The Government has also reintroduced scholarship programmes for tertiary students, with thousands of beneficiaries across local and foreign institutions. Teacher recruitment and training exercises have strengthened capacity in basic education, while measures to reintegrate out-of-school children are expanding access to quality learning opportunities. These initiatives collectively demonstrate the Government’s resolve to ensure every child in Kano has the opportunity to learn, grow, and succeed in a supportive environment.
