To enhance fiscal sustainability, the Kano State Government has intensified efforts to diversify and increase internally generated revenue. The administration of His Excellency, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf has introduced reforms in tax collection, automation of payment systems, and capacity-building for revenue officers. By blocking leakages and improving compliance, monthly IGR figures have grown steadily. The integration of technology through digital payment platforms has made it easier for citizens and businesses to meet tax obligations transparently. These reforms are laying the foundation for a stronger fiscal base that enables government to deliver more social and infrastructural services without over-reliance on federal allocations.
