Security remains a top priority for the Kano State Government, and the administration’s actions over the last two years demonstrate decisive and coordinated leadership. Notable achievements include full delivery on Security Management & Coordination: passage and operationalisation of the Kano State Security Neighbourhood Watch Law, the inauguration of a Peace & Youth Rehabilitation Committee and establishment of an Emergency Security Committee to coordinate rapid responses. On crime prevention the Government delivered major measures — including creation of a special joint taskforce, mobile court tribunals in metropolitan Kano, and a reclassification of phone-snatching offences to enable swifter prosecution — contributing to improved arrest and prosecution rates. While Security Funding & Support remains an area for acceleration, the combined policy, legislative and operational reforms are strengthening community policing, speeding judicial response, and restoring public confidence across the State.
