Access to clean and safe water remains a major policy focus. The administration of His Excellency, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf has made remarkable progress in restoring and expanding water supply infrastructure across the State. The rehabilitation of key treatment plants and reticulation networks has improved water distribution to urban and rural communities. Several boreholes have been constructed and resuscitated, particularly in areas facing acute shortages. In partnership with development agencies, the Government is implementing community-based water management systems to ensure sustainability. These interventions are already improving health outcomes, reducing waterborne diseases, and providing relief to households that had long struggled for access to safe drinking water.
